Patagonia Women’s Microdini 1/2 Zip Fleece Pullover
Review by Kate Agathon
Update your wardrobe this spring with the Patagonia Women’s Microdini ½ Zip Fleece Pullover; the ultimate shoulder season transition piece that offers just enough warmth and plenty of style.
Look and Fit
The box cut Patagonia Microdini ½ Zip Fleece Pullover offers an easy-going silhouette that is right on trend for 2025.

The attractive Wetland Blue color blocking gives off some serious retro vibes and is subtle enough for people like me who want to have a stylish piece in their wardrobe without fully embracing a trend (i.e. loud neon colors or patterns).
I was initially reluctant to embrace the shorter hemline of the Patagonia Women’s Microdini ½ Zip Fleece Pullover, but once I put it on and wore it, it didn’t bother me as much as I expected.
Note that you will want to try your normal size and then maybe a size down. Many of the online reviews indicate that users found it true to size, but that was not the case for me. I typically wear a size small. After trying on the size small, I thought it was too boxy in the body and especially spacious underneath the arms. It looked strange and allowed too much air to come up underneath. I opted for a size down and the extra small fit much better.

Features
The Fair Trade-certified Patagonia Microdini ½ Zip Fleece Pullover is definitely for everyday casual wear.
I call it my “chillax” pullover.
Constructed from recycled lightweight velour fleece, it provided plenty of warmth and felt kinda like I was wearing my favorite blanket. I reached for it whenever I wanted something comfortable to wear around home, out walking the dogs, or on long car trips.
Even though the material is described as lightweight fleece, it felt warmer than expected. Recently, it was particularly nice to wear on a blue bird day that looked deceptively warm, but still had a cold breeze coming in from Lake Dillon.
Features that I appreciated were the stand up collar, the elasticized cuffs that kept it in place when I was wearing it as a mid layer, and the zippered left-chest pocket that was large enough to accommodate my wallet.

I liked that the chest pocket was made from Houdini nylon material, just to make it pop and break up the monotony with some texture.
It would have been nice if it had some hand pockets, featured the same elasticized waist as the cuffs, and a longer length for extra coverage, but overall I am pleased with how the Patagonia Microdini ½ Zip Fleece Pullover looks and feels.
Overall Thoughts
Not excessively warm, the Patagonia Microdini ½ Zip Fleece Pullover is ready for whatever cool, dry conditions that shoulder season brings.
On cold mornings and evenings, I like wearing this around the house because it provides just the right amount of warmth and softness. Because I’m indoors, I’m not as bothered by the shorter hemline.

The relaxed fit does not prohibit movement and it is a good lazy day layering piece because it is so comfy. If you want a stylish pullover without fully committing to trends, the Patagonia Microdini ½ Zip Fleece Pullover is a good place to start.
