The Jones Frontier 2.0 Splitboard gets some updates for 2026.

The Jones Frontier 2.0 splitboard features a refreshed directional shape, with a longer nose, tapered tail, and a camber profile that’s built to float naturally in pow and stay predictable in variable snow. It’s not trying to be overly aggressive — it’s meant to feel intuitive.

Flex-wise, this board sits on the softer side (2/5). I almost always go for a stiffer board as I like that kind of feeling, and I am also heavier (215lb). So testing this board out was definitely out of my norm. But it surprised me in several good ways.

The board is forgiving, easy to maneuver, and doesn’t fight you when you’re navigating tight terrain or uneven snow. On the descent, that translates to a playful, surfy ride rather than a stiff, demanding one. Making lower-angle terrain more rewarding and fun. As I get older, I am more about lower-angle (I call it mild salsa) terrain, so having this softer feel was surprisingly fun.

The 3D Contour base in the nose helps keep things smooth in deeper snow and chopped conditions, and Traction Tech adds confidence when things firm up — especially on sketchier approaches or wind-affected slopes. We have not had much in the way of powder this season here in Colorado, so I have not had it in those kinds of ideal conditions much – but I look forward to it here in mid-February (and I will update the review accordingly)

The camber underfoot makes touring more efficient (than some of the rockered boards we have tested). This will save you some energy on the way up and help you maintain better contact with the snow.

This isn’t a hard-charging, point-it freeride missile. Instead, it’s a board for riders who want flow, float, and fun, whether that’s mellow powder laps, tree riding, or long days exploring new zones.

Bottom line: the Jones Frontier 2.0 splitboard is a friendly, versatile splitboard that rewards relaxed, creative riding. If your backcountry days are about enjoying the terrain rather than overpowering it, this one makes a lot of sense.
