Every year, SIA hosts a booth called the Backcountry Experience at the Snow Show.  This year, Jeremy Jones gave a talk on how he approaches avalanche observation, a few tips, a few no-nos, and other various thoughts on backcountry travel.

If you’re heading into the backcountry, get yourself educated, find a mentor, and always be willing to call it a no-go.  Better to be able to get turns in tomorrow than to find yourself taking your last turns today.
