YETI Limited Edition Black Stone 140z Mug

Limited Edition Black Stone YETI 14 Oz Stackable Mug Review

This season, YETI improved one of my favorites -the 14 oz. mug- with some practical features. I love how the limited edition Black Stone textured coating feels, the DuraSip ceramic lining to maintain the delicate taste of my hot tea, and the stackable bottom for easy storage.

Kitworks Adventure Duffel

Adventure Duffel

The Kitworks Adventure Duffel is a gear junky and adventure lover’s dream. The duffel is well built, with plenty of options to cover just about any storage need a person could have. The bag itself can be used as a duffel bag or backpack. The inside, depending on which accessories you get, can be divided and organized to meet your specific needs. Accessories include a wet/dirty bag, dividers that have pouches or pockets, and gear cubes. This is an investment piece, but one that will stay in use for many seasons of adventures.

Altra FWD VIA 2 Shoe

I love the wide toe box and fit of these Altra FWD VIA 2 shoes. They let my toes naturally splay. The max cushion is great for long days of training and walking. Of all the shoes I tested this year, these are the most used ones! I also appreciate the 4mm drop. Not too high, not zero, just right for my foot.

Nomadix Puffer Blanket

The Nomadix Puffer Blanket has become reviewer Erin Trail’s go-to blanket during her 2025 adventures. The blanket easily packs down into it’s own compression sack, making it an easy choice for car camping or traveling. The blanket is super versatile – being sand/dirt proof, making it a nice choice as a ground cover. Thanks to the side snapping system, the blanket easily converts into a poncho or a cape, which is the feature that really won Erin over.
The Stio Skycrest Insulated Snap Shirt ticks all the boxes when it comes to style and function. The jacket has a cool western + moto vibe that looks great on. The jacket is also warm, weatherproof, and packable, utilizing recycled Thermore® Ecodown® insulation. Tester Erin Trail has been taking this jacket with her everywhere this season – from camping adventures to outings around town.
Overall, the Stio Shifter Shirt SS is made from high-quality materials, that provide excellent sun protection, light water resistance, and all-day comfort. It doesn’t trap heat, allows full mobility, and is versatile enough for biking, hiking, office wear, or casual outings. This shirt is now one of my go-to riding shirts, and I really enjoy wearing it in both active and casual situations.
The Ciele IBT Hoody (It’s Better Than, and it is) earns its spot on this list for its rare balance of warmth, breathability, and freedom of movement. Made with a soft, brushed technical fabric that stretches like a second skin, it’s equally at home during early-morning runs or post-ride coffee stops. The slim hood fits cleanly under a cap, thumb loops stay out of the way, and the minimalist design makes it a layer you’ll wear well beyond training. A quiet essential for anyone who runs through winter.

Mammut Arctic IV ML Hooded Jacket

Mammut Arctic IV ML Hoodie Review

The Mammut Arctic IV ML Hoodie is aesthetically stunning.

Mammut absolutely nailed this season’s most popular color: deep teal. Not too green and not too blue, I would describe the color as a beautiful turquoise.

In addition to the beautiful color, I loved that the hoodie did not follow the short, boxy style that is trending right now. Instead, it is designed to be functional and has a practical length to keep me warm.

Offering an ideal warmth-to-weight ratio, the Mammut Arctic IV ML Hoodie is a performance sweater fleece jacket that balances warmth, fashion, and function.

HOVERAir X1 Pro MAX 8K Drone

The HOVERAir X1 Pro MAX 8K Drone has been the most fun and effective drone I have used (and I have several nice DJI drones…) It is lightweight, packable, and easy to use (I taught our nieces to use it in less than 5 minutes), and the footage looks great (I like the 4K HDR 30FPS).

I have never used a drone that did not require a remote control and attention. This autonomous drone lifts off from your hand, grabs the shots, and comes back. It blew my mind.

Norda 005 Trail Running Shoes

Norda 005 Trail Running Shoe Review

Do you want to show the runner in your life that you really care about them? Get them a pair of the new Norda 005 shoes. These are expensive but they were reviewer Erin Trail’s favorite trail running shoe of 2025. These shoes are incredibly light and a joy to run in.

Stio Colter Mountain Slip

Stio Colter Mountain Slip Review

The Stio Colter Mountain Slip is a cozy shoe that does both indoor and outdoor duty. More than just your basic slipper, the Colter Mountain Slip has warm fleece lining and EVA foam for warmth and comfort. The outer construction is rugged with a sturdy nylon shell and rubber tread. The Stio Colter Mountain Slip makes a perfect option for both at-home use and for bringing with you on your winter hut and ski trips.

La Sportiva Mandala

Ride Concept Men’s Hellion Elite BOA Review

Ride Concepts Hellion Elite BOA

Men's Hellion Elite BOA®

Over the few dozen rides I’ve put on Ride Concepts’ Hellion Elite BOA shoes, I’ve been impressed by the fit and comfort provided by the BOA® Fit System. My feet felt securely locked into the shoes and, by extension, into the pedals thanks to the sticky MaxGrip rubber outsole. Protection from trail impacts is top-tier, with a strong toe cap, inside ankle padding, and the D3O® insole. These are my go-to MTB shoes from now on, no matter the trail.

Royal Robbins MEN’S EL CAP CANVAS SHACKET

The El Cap Shacket from Royal Robbins nails the balance between rugged durability and everyday comfort. Made from a recycled polyester and wool blend, it delivers the cozy warmth of a midlayer with the structure of a jacket, perfect for shoulder-season layering or cool mountain evenings. Subtle outdoor styling meets urban versatility, with snap closures, deep hand pockets, and just enough insulation to make it your go-to for everything from camp mornings to coffee runs. Its the perfect jacket for your cozy cabin getaways!

Swany X-Cell Mitt

Swany X-Cell Mittens Review

Rated for frigid conditions, the Swany X-Cell Mittens are the warmest leather mittens I have ever worn and my absolute favorite.

The overall design of the Swany X-Cell Mittens is well planned. I love the extended extra cuff (not quite as wide as a typical gauntlet) with the adjustable Swany SpeedDraw System wrist cinch for extra coverage. And the Stem Finger construction’s snug fit offers a secure fit.

Despite the elongated cuff, the mittens also did not get in the way of my ski jacket cuff, which was another bonus (I was initially concerned it would be “too much mitten”).

Other much-appreciated practical features of the Swany X-Cell Mittens include a zippered pocket on the top of the mitten designed to securely hold a heat pad, and straps to put around your wrist or hang on a hook when you’re in the bathroom.

Arms of Andes Featherweight 110 Alpaca Wool Shirt

The Arms of Andes Featherweight 110 Alpaca Wool Shirt is the lightest natural material shirt I have ever tested. I was so impressed with this one that I am going to get more and rely on them for summer use and sleeping in.

The North Face Women’s Yumiori Off Peak Full-Zip Jacket

The Women’s Yumiori Off Peak Full-Zip Jacket from The North Face is everything you want in a winter fleece jacket. It’s snuggly warm with heavy pile fleece. It’s stylish with a trendy oversize cropped cut. And it’s comfortable. Reviewer Erin Trail has been wearing this jacket almost daily as temperatures have turned cold, citing that the styling and the soft fleece fabric have made this jacket her favorite out of this season’s jacket collection. This jacket is great on its own, but will also make a nice midlayer for skiing and snowboarding.

Mammut Haldigrat HS Hooded Jacket and Bibs

The Mammut Haldigrat HS Hooded Jacket and Bibs are definitely a luxury item at nearly $1,150 USD for the set, but it’s a luxury with performance in mind. The Mammut Haldigrat HS line is incredibly light and stacked with features, making it a great option for both backcountry, resort, and skimo skiers alike.

Marmot WarmCube Active Aerothermal PrimaLoft Insulated Hoody

The WarmCube® Active Aerothermal PrimaLoft® Insulated Hoody from Marmot is exactly what a high-output, high-performance insulative layer should be: warm, lightweight, and breathable. Marmot’s WarmCube technology combines the lightweight efficiency of 700 fill down with a unique stitching pattern that prevents cold spots, reduces used material (and weight!), and uses the gaps in the layer’s insulation to help boost heat retention and temperature control. This, paired with PrimaLoft’s fantastic Active Evolve fleece, creates a layer that breathes, keeps you warm, and still functions when you’re sweating buckets moving in cold conditions.

Smith Hardline Mips Composite Helmet

Smith Hardline Composite Downhill Helmet Review

If you’re seeking top-tier protection that looks sleek and modern, the Smith Hardline Composite Downhill Helmet is a standout option for downhill riders and gravity athletes alike. It excels in safety, fit customization, and goggle compatibility. It’s a premium helmet that delivers real value through thoughtful features and rugged construction.

Smith Overland Rx Glasses

The Smith Overland Rx brings trail-ready performance to everyday wear, pairing blue-light-blocking lenses with the option for prescription clarity. The lightweight frame and subtle wrap deliver all-day comfort, while Smith’s ChromaPop™ optics enhance contrast whether you’re behind a screen or out on the road. Equal parts office and adventure, these are the rare glasses that feel as good on your face as they look in your pack. I wear mine probably more than is medically necessary but I have come to rely on them as my comfort glasses.
